Switzerland finished top of Group B after a 2-1 win over Canada in Vancouver, with both sides still moving into the knockout stage.

After a tight first half, Switzerland took control early in the second. Ruben Vargas opened the scoring shortly after the restart before Johan Manzambi doubled the lead. Canada responded through substitute Promise David in the 76th minute, but Switzerland held on under late pressure to finish the group on seven points.

Canada still progressed as runners-up, three points behind Switzerland.

In the other Group B fixture, Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Qatar 3-1 in Seattle. The result ended Qatar’s tournament and kept Bosnia and Herzegovina in contention for the knockout stage.

Mexico also delivered one of the clearest wins of the day, beating Czechia 3-0 in Mexico City to finish Group A with three wins from three. Mateo Chávez broke the deadlock in the second half, Julián Quiñones added the second and Álvaro Fidalgo scored in stoppage time. Czechia exited the tournament with one point.

South Africa joined Mexico in advancing from Group A after a 1-0 win over South Korea.

In Group C, Brazil beat Scotland 3-0 and Morocco beat Haiti 4-2. Brazil and Morocco both finished strongly, while Scotland were left waiting to see whether their points total would be enough to reach the knockout stage through the third-place route.

It was a full day of decisive group-stage football, with several teams confirming their path into the next round and others left relying on the final shape of the standings.
